You hear a lot about resilience and restoration in our bodies. But do you know how to do this in your own life? What are the important questions to ask when you are trying to rebuild your health or protect yourself from the future chronic diseases?

My today’s guest has a lot of great wisdom on this topic. Her name is Dr. Mary Louise Bove, ND.

Dr. Bove has over 40 years of experience in herbal medicine and 25 years of working at her clinical practice Naturopathic Family Medicine and Midwifery at the Brattleboro Naturopathic Clinic in VT.

In her early days Mary owned an herbal apothecary in Maine, later moving to Great Britain to study herbal medicine. Her path took her to the Bastyr College of Natural Health Sciences in Seattle WA where she received her Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine and Midwifery Certification. Once a full-time faculty member at Bastyr College of Natural Health Sciences, Dr Bove chaired the departments of Botanical Medicine and Naturopathic Midwifery.

In 2014, when Dr. Bove closed her clinic, she became a Director of Medical Education for the prominent herbal company Gaia Herbs.

Mary is the author of the Encyclopedia of Natural Healing for Children and Infants considered an authoritative reference on natural pediatric medicine. She also co-authored Herbs for Women’s Health and has been published in many magazines, journals and collaborative books on botanical and natural medicine.

Mary lectures and teaches internationally on the topics of naturopathic medicine, botanical medicine, pediatrics, natural pregnancy, childbirth, traditional food medicine and mind-body healing. CONTACTING OUR GUEST:

”If every day we can restore back to neutral, it’s a better place to start than if we’re starting already wound up and stressed. It eats into our fertility, inflammation, chronic disease, our energy, how we think.”

“It’s not just about what I put into my body. It’s how I think, it’s what I do to make me happy every day, it’s taking the time not to get caught up in the ‘shoulds’ and ‘what ifs’, it’s learning how to sit.”

“Five minutes of happiness boost immune system in amazing ways.”

”Waiting to use herbs when I’m sick doesn’t make sense. Why not use plants that are very well suited for daily use? They should be in my salads, my dressing, on the stove to scent my air. All of them make a difference.”

“Plants gives this opportunity to human beings to feel comfortable, to improve our energy and physiology and to help us on a more ethereal level.”

“We can be down the path towards a chronic disease at the age of 50, but we are starting that in our 30s.”
